Travel Tips

Choosing your holiday
We’ve got a great variety of hotels for you to choose from, with something to suit all tastes. However, read the descriptions carefully before you choose – a hotel with a family atmosphere is unlikely to provide a peaceful pool area. The photos are there to give a general feel of the area or the hotel, but may not necessarily be a place you’ll see or the hotel's standard rooms. If you want to be sure then why not check out the hotel's own website? Also, bear in mind that travel is just like anything else you buy – price and value for money are closely related. However, paying the same price in different places does not guarantee that you’ll get the same quality.

Passports, visas, and health
As obvious as it sounds, you’d be surprised at the number of people that are caught out by an out of date passport. Make sure you’ve got a standard 10 year passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travelling date. You may also need a visa to travel, so double check before you book. Staying fit and healthy on holiday means a better performance on the golf course, so make sure you speak to your doctor about any vaccinations required and check out the Department of Health leaflet T6 ‘Health Advice for Travellers’ that was issued in February 2001.

Safety and security abroad
You’re probably aware that safety standards and regulations abroad are not always as good as those we have in the UK. However, a little common sense can go a long way. Make sure you and your children are aware of the pool depths and where to get out, don’t leave kids alone on balconies, and always know where the nearest fire exit is in your hotel. Also, while a bit of 'bling' might be fashionable, it’s guaranteed to attract thieves, so always use a safe and leave the jewels to the catwalk, not the sidewalk.

Foreign office travel advice
We are working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to do all that we can to help British travellers stay safe overseas. Before you go overseas, check out the FCO website at www.fco.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo. It's packed with essential travel advice, tips and up to date information on specific countries. Or, you can ring the FCO on 0207 008 0232 and 0207 008 0233.

Disabled clients and medical problems
Unfortunately, most hotels and airlines are not well-equipped for disabled holidaymakers and it’s not one of our specialities. We want you to have the best holiday possible so please inform us of any serious medical condition or physical disability before you book.

Children
They say kids grow up quicker these days and they certainly do in the eyes of airlines. An infant will be classed as under 2 years, and a child as between 2 and 11 years on the date of travel. If you need a cot or a car seat to make your holiday a little more comfortable then let us know when you book and we’ll do what we can to sort it out – though you may have to pay a charge locally. When you get them in resort, make sure you check they’re up to standard, and let your hotel reception/rep know if they're not.

Unexpected extras
There’s nothing worse than getting a huge bill at the end of your stay – so make sure you know what you have to pay for and what’s included. Sports facilities and drinks may have to be paid for, and laundry and phone calls definitely will. Make sure you know how much you’re paying before you make the call.

Building work and noise
While it’s not pretty, building work has to happen if resorts and local economies are to develop. We’ll let you know about any ongoing construction as soon as we do. Likewise, your hotel may be in a built-up area or near an airport and, just like in the UK, that may mean some traffic noise.

Website accuracy
All due care and diligence have been exercised in the production of this website. Information concerning resorts, hotels and their facilities has been compiled as accurately as possible and has been checked at the time of uploading. However, information can change. If we are told of any significant changes, we will advise you when you book or, if a booking has already been made, notify you before your departure if possible.
