The Resort

The Argentario Golf Resort & Spa offers an alternative vision of a Mediterranean resort – one that, aesthetically and architecturally, looks forward not back. This strikingly modern and elegant resort, just yards away from the beautiful sandy beaches of Feniglia and Giannella, is ideal for golfers who want a beautiful, top quality course in an ideal, year-round climate.

It lies between Grosseto and Capalbio, in the heart of the Maremma region near cities such as Siena (110 km) and Florence (180 km), and weaves its way around a protected oasis offering a panorama that is truly stunning.

Surrounded by cork trees and centennial olive groves, the land gently slopes towards the sea and the lagoon. The microclimate allows golf to be enjoyed all year round on one of Europe’s most attractive new seaside courses.

Golf

The golf course at Argentario is laid out on a mix of flat and undulating terrain, amid olive groves and occasional cork forests. With scenic elevation changes, the front-nine in particular provides spectacular views out to sea and across two lagoons that separate Argentario from the mainland. The course flattens out on the second nine, where several holes pass directly through olive groves on their way to tricky, undulating greens.

The mountains provide a scenic backdrop and small lakes and ditches keep you on your toes - the par-5 9th and par-3 17th greens are defended formidably by water. With sea breezes adding another dimension to the challenge here, Argentario demands both precision and power, especially if you attempt to play it from the back tees.

Bars and Restaurants

In keeping with the distinctive contemporary style at Argentario, the luxury Italian resort offers its guests the opportunity to savour the finest ingredients in utterly striking surroundings.

Dama Dama Restaurant

This is the restaurant where Fabrizio Santucci - the star of the Caminetto and the Casina Valadier in Rome - together with executive chef Emiliano Lombardelli, prepares both Tuscan and Italian specialities. The restaurant is a modern interpretation of an elegant mountain refuge. The mock hunting trophies, the velvets and the natural fabrics make this place somewhat of a surprise within the resort. Dining is in comfortable rooms with a fireplace or by candlelight, ensconced in comfortable armchairs whilst enjoying the mountain scenery. The locally inspired cuisine made is from indigenous, regional ingredients.

The Bar

The Bar surrounds a large and stylish staircase, while the lounge, with its circular couches, looks out on the terrace, where meals can be taken under the olive trees. The Bistro area of The Bar serves breakfast, chosen from a simple yet international menu. There is also a room that is ideal for business breakfasts or private dinners.

Spa

The Espace wellness centre - a series of spaces dedicated to revitalising the body - is located at garden level and is directly accessible from the golf course. Areas of white interrupted by shades of black and light woods create a memorable style suspended between retro and modern.

Guests have the use of aromatic Turkish baths, thalassotherapy steam baths, biosaunas with chromotherapy, Finnish saunas, saline baths and Kneipp treatment, as well as the large panoramic indoor heated swimming pool and hydromassage tubs. The outdoor pools with geysers and solarium, overlook the 18th hole. Inside the centre are nine massage rooms. Medispa is the Espace Medicine Center where you can book aesthetic medicine treatments or naturopathic and nutritionist programs.

The Espace Suite is a private spa within the wellness centre. An aromatic Turkish bath with a starlit ceiling, a waterfall shower, a hydromassage with chromotherapy, a heated stone hammam bed and floating water beds are just some of the facilities available to clients of the suite, who can book the area for the amount of time they require, in order to receive personalized treatments.
