The Resort

Doonbeg is a luxury, once-in-a-lifetime destination that has few parallels, courtesy primarily of the phenomenal Greg Norman designed golf course carved into an awe-inspiring landscape on the coast of Ireland's County Clare. No expense has been spared in a bid to create a complete golfing experience, combined with deluxe accommodation and the standard of amenities expected by five-star international travellers.

Although Doonbeg has just one course, it is one of the most unique and visually striking in Europe; the Great White Shark, such a famous exponent of links golf, manipulated the rugged South West Irish shoreline to create some dramatic holes. Spectacular views are complemented by impeccable service, fine dining and a boutique spa, all of the highest quality.

Rooms

Classic and deluxe rooms are joined at Doonbeg by a collection of luxury suites and lodges, all of which have been designed, laid out and decorated with the top end golf traveller in mind. Subtle, muted tones are complemented by the finest fixtures and superbly appointed en-suite bathroom, with accommodation options affording easy access to the resort's main attractions.

Bars and Restaurants

The dining experience at Doonbeg is truly unique among international golfing destinations, with restaurants and menus devised under the direction of Tom Colicchio, the celebrated American Chef behind New York's Craft and the Gramercy Tavern, not to mention hit television series Top Chef.

The Long Room

Head chef Sebastian Schulze overlooks the refined menu in the Long Room for lunch and dinner service, using the best in Irish produce to deliver a spectacular array of beautiful plates.

Darby's

The more informal atmosphere in Darby's makes it a favourite haunt for golfers, who also no doubt savour the glorious menu and the equally impressive ocean views over the golf course.

The White Horses Spa

In the White Horses Spa at Doonbeg, the most indulgent treatments and experiences are available in stunning surroundings; the spa was masterminded by renowned interior designer Clodagh Design of New York. Specialist treatments are available for golfers, and all the products used in the spa are from the sought after Kerstin Florian range.

Doonbeg Golf Links

Golf is, of course, central to the Doonbeg experience, and for that we owe thanks to Greg Norman. The multiple major winner and former world number one now calls high specification course design one of his myriad business interests, and Doonbeg is the first such of its kind in Ireland. The course ? and the incredibly rugged parcel of land into which it is fit ? must be seen to be believed.

Highlights include the 15th, with its phenomenal 150-foot deep funnel-shaped green, while a round at Doonbeg is underpinned by the awesome coastal views that serve as the backdrop for one of Ireland's very best courses.
