The Resort

Golf
Set in the heart of Canada's Rocky Mountains, The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Resort offers one of the most spectacular settings the game has to offer. It throws up jaw-dropping panoramas from every hole, but it’s also a magnificent layout that doesn’t have a weak hole in its collection.
Originally designed in 1928 by Canada's master golf course architect, Stanley Thompson, the course winds along the Bow River and under the snow-capped peaks of Sulphur Mountain and Mount Rundle. In 1989, 9 holes were added to the original 18, resulting in 27 championship standard holes.
A challenging championship test for any standard of golfer, with various sets of tees taking the course from 5,607 to 7,083 yards, Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course is also known for its interesting optical illusions created by the surrounding mountains. A traditional risk/reward course, the greens have been renovated over the last few years to provide golfers with greater opportunities. The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course also includes a practice facility along with a golf academy.
