Golf

Whistler has become one of the premier golf destinations in Canada and the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club is one of the reasons why. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and opened in 1993, this par-72, 18-hole course offers a golf opportunity unmatched in the region.

This scenic 6,635-yard mountain layout plays along a valley and along dramatic terraces carved out of the slopes of the Coast Mountain range. It boasts views of the glacier-capped mountain tops and plays over a stunning natural landscape that contains 400-foot elevation changes, massive granite outcroppings and Douglas firs lining generous fairways. However, this course also provides enough fun and challenge for players of all levels. Players that tend to be wild from the tee will have a tough time at Chateau Whistler, though.

Meanwhile, the smart player that picks his/her spots though and plays within their game will love every aspect of this mountain track. If you shots need straightening, The David Leadbetter golf academy is on hand, along with a 350-yard double ended practice range, a 10,000 square foot putting green with chipping area and practice bunkers. This huge facility demonstrates Chateau Whistler Golf Club’s commitment to providing one of the finest golf experiences in North America.
