South African course architect Peter Matkovich was gifted the glorious Domaine de Bel Ombre plot on which to create the golf course, and the 18-hole championship layout is a joy to behold.

Challenges, as well as aesthetic appeal, come from the Citronniers and St Martin Rivers, which traverse Golf du Chateau, while Matkovich has also made full use of the expansive lakes and tropical woodland indigenous to the land.
