Formerly operated under the Westin brand, La Quinta is centred on a fantastic five-star hotel, designed and decorated in a classical Andalucian style, and complete with extensive amenities. It is here that the clubhouse and starting point for the top class 27-hole golf complex is found, one of the best of its kind in the region. Golf
Manuel Pinero, a member of Europe's victorious 1985 Ryder Cup team, was presented with the unique parcel of land that surrounds the central hotel at La Quinta out of which to manipulate a 27-hole golfing complex. The three loops are varied in character, but are testament to the architect's ability to produce thoroughly enjoyable golf that is perfectly harmonious with its surrounding landscape.
The nine-hole loops at La Quinta golf are named Guadaiza, Ronda and San Pedro, and together they offer splendid variety for resident golfers. Long and demanding par-5s are complemented by devilish short holes, with many providing splendid views, while the seemingly ever-present threat of the gullies and crevasses of the undulating terrain.
Rooms
The hotel at Melia La Quinta winds around the expansive swimming pool, providing terrific views, and the accommodation is of equal quality. The collection of rooms and suites totals 172, all extremely spacious and comfortable. For the finest La Quinta experience upgrade to one of the front facing suites, from which the sea views are phenomenal.
