The Resort
Positioned on the highest point of the Soma Bay peninsula and enjoying spectacular panoramic sea views from all sides, La Residence is a stylish hotel that's a wonderful playground for those who want to golf, dive or be pampered with thalasso-therapy treatments.
Located on Egypt's Red Sea Riviera, the hotel sits at the centre of an internationally-acclaimed championship golf course called The Cascades, designed by Gary Player. The 18-hole course is renowned for providing a brilliant blend of links and desert-style golf in one beguiling package. It looks as good as it plays too. The par-72 layout's lush green fairways contrast dramatically with the rugged desert and the clear blue waters of the surrounding sea to create and unforgettable vista.
Golf
La Residence is located at the centre of The Cascades championship golf course, a spectacular design by Gary Player which combines the best of links and desert features. Not only is it the first golf course open for play on the Western Red Sea coast, it is the first championship course in the Middle East designed by one of the "Big Three" (Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer). The 18-hole, par-72 course offers memorable views of the fairways, rugged desert and the clear blue sea waters and was referred to as "the Red Sea Treasure" and ranked the Number 1 golf course in the world outside of Europe for three years in a row by the readers of America's 'Golf Journal'.
Located in the Soma Bay area right alongside the coast, the Cascades course covers 6,700 yards while its spacious fairways, elevated greens and a rolling terrain with sand dunes can be enjoyed by all standards of golfer thanks to multiple tee areas. No fewer than three sides of the course are edged by the Red Sea, while other features include more than 70 sandy bunkers, streams and large man-made lakes.
Adjacent to the Championship course, is the 9-hole, par-3 Challenge Course, also designed by Gary Player, that offers both the beginner and the more advanced golfer the opportunity to practise a variety of shots with emphasis on the short game.

This elegant restaurant features fine dining in an intimate atmosphere. Its terrace overlooks the golf course's 9th green and central lake.
Situated just off the 18th green on the pool deck, the Spikes Bar is ideally positioned for a refreshing, cool drink after a satisfying round of golf or a few laps in the swimming pool.
An intimate clubhouse lounge with panoramic views; ideal for afternoon tea and a relaxing card or board game.
On the top floor, this British style pub is named after the many sea eagles that can be seen on the eastern coast of Soma Bay. True to it's name, it dominates the entire peninsula from its privileged location.
This is where an after-dinner evening is spent in arabesque style with live entertainment.

The Spa
For centuries the waters and sands surrounding Soma Bay have been renowned for their richness and natural healing powers, making this an ideal base for effective thalasso-therapy. Les Thermes Marins des Cascades is an integral part of La Residence, easily accessible from all guest rooms.
It is operated in cooperation with "Les Thermes Marins de Saint-Malo" of France and is one of the largest thalasso-therapy centers in the region. Facilities include a large Aquatonic Pool and fitness centre while treatments includ nutrition programmes, a variety of hydrotherapies, in addition to seaweed wraps, underwater massages, sea mist room, beauty care and post-natal recuperation programmes.
