Golf

The Plantation Course at Kapalua is the stage for the annual, season opening Tournament of Champions so a round here will see you literally following in the footsteps of some of the game’s greats. This island gem has been consistently recognised as one of the 100 greatest golf courses in the USA and will provide any golfer brave enough to tackle it with a stern examination.

The Bay Course at Kapalua has been the subject of many improvements and is now revered as one of the best resort courses in the world. Boasting stunning ocean views on 16 out of 18 holes, a round on the Bay course will leave you wanting more. Both golf courses have been recognised by the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program and the abundance of wildlife makes for a truly fascinating experience.

Golfers looking to improve their game can head to the Kapalua Golf Academy where top class facilities are available as is instruction from world class golf coaches in private or group sessions.

Bars and Restaurants

Inspired by its tropical surroundings, the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua offers up an elegant and visually impressive collection of restaurants, making superb use of the local island produce.

The Terrace

Overlooking the floral gardens at the centre of the resort and facing the poll and the ocean, this peaceful restaurant is the perfect place to start each day at Kapalua and is open for breakfast daily and also offers an a la carte menu for dinner on Monday evenings. The peaceful setting is enhanced by a glass enclosed terrace that is perfect for enjoying an al fresco morning meal.

The Banyan Tree

The Banyan Restaurant is the hotel’s signature restaurant and following a recent redesign it now features an outdoor bar and lounge with a covered terrace with dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, the island of Moloka'i and the Pailolo Channel. Serving international fare of the highest quality that is prepared with locally sourced fresh produce, The Banyan Tree is open for dinner Monday through Saturday.

Kai Sushi

Kai Sushi design was inspired by the Hawaiian’s arrival across the sea. The warm tones of carved wood, woven grasses and golden stone provide an intoxicating island atmosphere where diners can enjoy Hawaii’s finest sushi that has been prepared from the freshest ingredients caught right on the doorstep.

Alaloa Lounge

Widely considered as the best Lobby Lounge on the island, the Alaloa Lounge is the perfect place to head for a pre-dinner aperitif or to simply relax and enjoy the flavours of the tropics in a refreshing cocktail. Signature appetisers and desserts are complimented by an extensive menu of specialty cocktails, domestic and imported beers and premium spirits. With its stunning ocean views, the Alaloa Lounge is the perfect place to soak up the Hawaiian sunset, enjoy a relaxing lunch or, at certain times of the year, marvel at migrating whales that put on some show.

The Pool Bar and Cafe

If you are lounging by the pool you won’t have to go far to find refreshment as the Pool Bar and Cafe serves up delicious sandwiches, salads and other snacks as well as an impressive array of refreshing tropical drinks, smoothies and cocktails. If you don’t fell like leaving the cool confines of the pool the poolside staff will even enter the pool fully clothed to serve you.

The Beach House

More than 40 towering palms form a natural canopy so that guests can sit out and enjoy light fare and refreshing tropical drinks and cocktails. This is the perfect place to head for lunch or for some afternoon entertainment.
