The Resort

The magnificent Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana overlooks its own picture perfect half moon beach, its inspired design combining the charm of a Spanish colonial village with the laid-back sensuality of the Caribbean. Bougainvillea-lined pathways lead guests through the resort grounds to 176 expansive and superbly appointed private suites housed in replicas of a tower, colonial buildings and fortress.

Within the resort are five exceptional restaurants, five bars, an elegant casino, while just minutes away there are two remarkable golf courses that are Jack Nicklaus Signature; one of which, Punta Espada, was named ’Best in Mexico and the Caribbean’ by Golfweek Magazine for two years running. There are numerous recreational choices along with upscale dining, live entertainment and the largest inland yacht marina in the Caribbean.

Golf

When you stay at Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana, you’ll have access to two pristine courses with smooth fairways and manicured greens. Add in a once-in-a-lifetime hole that literally hugs the shoreline and is one of the most photographed on the planet and the ingredients for a dream golf holiday are on hand.

Punta Espada is a celebrated Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, and its star is the 13th hole, is par-3 that requires a 249-yard shot over water to a green surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Host to Cap Cana Championship (a PGA Championship Tour official event), it is recognised by Golf Digest as being among the premier 100 golf courses outside the U.S. It was also honoured by Golfweek as The Best Golf Course in the Caribbean and Mexico

Las Iguanas is another superb Jack Nicklaus Signature Course that will be opened later this year. This challenging course has a mixture of ocean front, inland and natural wet-land holes. Las Iguanas differs from Punta Espada in design, with plenty of undulations on the fairways and greens and an old school ‘links feel’ to the layout.
